Note: Email I received today:                                                                         Dear Brothers and Sisters:

On February 14, 1853, a groundbreaking ceremony in Salt Lake City began a 40-year journey of faith and sacrifice, culminating in the dedication of the Salt Lake Temple in 1893.

A current and comprehensive renovation to strengthen this sacred house of the Lord for future generations is now nearing completion.

Exactly 172 years after the groundbreaking ceremony, I am delighted to announce that the temple will reopen for tours during a public open house from April to October 2027.

We warmly invite our friends to come and learn about God's plan for His children and rejoice in the love of Jesus Christ. Details about this event will be shared as April 2027 approaches.

As houses of the Lord now dot the earth, I invite you to cherish your time and service at the temples closest to you as we prepare for the reopening of the Salt Lake Temple in 2027.

Sincerely,

President Russell M. Nelson

Debbie and I slept in, had prayer, showered, and got ready for the day.  We exchanged Valentine cards.  I gave Debbie flowers and a Valentine balloon for Valentine's Day yesterday.  Matthew called and will come by the house this evening.  A friend of his, Bobby Daniels, is on the same flight and will give him, Madeline, and Bella a ride.  Bobby is bringing his daughter, Emma, who was in school at Double Peek Elementary School with Madeline and Bella.  I met them at the Father-Daughter Campout in CA a couple of years ago, in Oct. 2023.  I spent the morning working on and organizing data and information for Matt McCleary, CPA who will doing out tax returns for 2024.  On the way to Revere Health Imaging I stopped at Texas Road House and made reservations for Debbie and me for dinner today at 4:30 pm; I went to the Home Depot and bought a couple of good strong shovels to shovel snow at the cabin for Matt to take up.   At the imaging center they did an MRI on my left leg.  There was no blood clot.  I met Debbie after she finished her EKG at Mt. Point Hospital in Lehi at Texas Road House.   We had a nice Valentine's dinner, came home, and watched a movie while waiting for Matthew, Madeline, and Bella.  Debbie made chocolate-covered fresh strawberries and angel food cake. We watched a couple movies, and had prayer together before going to bed at about 10:30 am.
