10:15 am - conduct church at Abbington Memory Center with others from Lehi 7th Ward
Note: Let us remember that desires dictate our priorities, priorities shape our choices, and choices determine our actions. actions
When we have a vision of what we can become, our desire and our power to act increase enormously.
A young man seeking wisdom from Socrates is taken to a body of water, where Socrates holds him under until he's desperate for air. After the young man surfaces, Socrates asks what he most desired, and the young man replies "air". Socrates then states, "When you want wisdom and insight as badly as you wanted that breath of air, then you shall have it".

Allow me to introduce myself; I am Leonard McAlpin. My mother was Inez Thrash, and her mother was Mattie Lee Smith. In the 1950s we came to the all-day singing where the family brought food and the long table next to the Bethel Church was filled with food. All the older generations are gone, and I find myself one of the few left of the present older generation. I appreciate the cemetery being maintained over the years.
I would like to make a donation to the cemetery fund, but I have no address to mail a check.
*Glenda Frames responded, "Send donations to Bethel Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Glenda Frames, 6326 Co. Rd. #11, Delta, AL 36258."
I woke and got up at 6:15 am, had prayer, showered, shaved, and dressed for church. I left Debbie sleeping while I studied the scriptures. Debbie and I had prayer together. I sent a text message to the Bethel Church Cemetery Committee leaders before going to the Abbington Memory Center. I volunteered to conduct today; Cody Leatham, our Elder's Quorum President sent me a program with names and songs for the services today. The Gauses were training Jeff and Lora Cunico who replaced Debbie and me. They have the Abbington Memory Center assignment today. Debbie and I arrived at about 10:20 am and everything was setup and ready. Debbie and our home ward, Lehi 7th, brought one of the largest groups for services that I had seen there. The sacrament was administered and passed. We had two speakers and a special musical number by the youth and Sister Jas Petrell who played the piano for services today. After church and everything was put back in its place and stored Debbie and I drove to the end of our Wards Sacrament and attended Sunday School. When we got home I took some probiotics and baking soda with water for indegestation. Later Debbie made a dinner salad and we finished off the angel food cake and vanilla ice cream. I talked to Alex and Carter today. They were in Palm Springs with Autumn. I also talked to Susan, my niece, about Brian, Ally, Avery, and Truitt. I called and talked to Lori Lynn in CA. She has pulled her back out but is still coaching clients. I talked to Rae Lynn and she caught me up on all the boys and how they are still waiting to learn what has caused Brody's kidney stones. I talked to Beth. She was cooking for Tucker, Maggie, and Andrew who wanted his mom's attention. Elain called me back and wanted to know when Matthew, Madeline Bella, and their friends are coming. She said she has been waiting all afternoon. I told them about the Chairman of the cemetery committee, Jimmy Nelson, home phone 256-253-2930; cell phone 256-201-1261 and for Glenda Frames, home phone 256-253-2261 and cell phone 404-861-8332. I texted them both and received a text back from Glenda Frames. The community still meets each Sunday at the Bethal Church for services but they have not had an Allday Singing since May 9, 1999. Sadly sporting events have become more popular. I would like to go but Debbie has a clinic for women and children she has been supporting opening in Shaka, Kenya on 14 May 2025. I planned to fly there after I come down from Base Camp at Mt. Everest. Lori Lynn and Elain also want to go. Ava called me on a 3-way phone call with her Dad, who was skiing at Park City. Ava is sick with Covid. Michael called and we had a good father-and-son talk. Later I texted Autumn that I had talked to Michael and Debbie and I love her. Debbie fixed dinner and later we had prayer and went to bed.
