Note: From my 2024 journal, Tuesday, September 24th, I made a note entry about a song, “It Took a Miracle,” I would like to have sung at my funeral. This song made a strong impression on me as a child, and I have never forgotten the lyrics I first heard at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. I had an impression that came to me as a young boy not much older than 10, if I was 10 years old when the preachers that preached hellfire, brimstone, and eternal damination for your sins if you were not saved. I remember being scared I was going to hell. I wanted to be saved. The Spirit told me in my mind and heart that the Lord loved me and I would not go to hell. A peace came over me, and I never worried again about going to an eternal hell when the preachers got everyone worked up over an eternal damination of fire and brimstone.
Verse 1
My Father is omnipotent
And that you can’t deny,
A God of might and miracles
Tis written in the sky.
Refrain
It took a miracle to put the stars in place,
It took a miracle to hang the world in space;
But when He saved my soul,
Cleansed and made me whole,
It took a miracle of love and grace!
Verse 2
Though here His glory has been shown,
We still can’t full see
The wonders of his might, His throne—
Twill take eternity.
Verse 3
The Bible tells us of His power
And wisdom all way through;
And every little bird and flower
Are testimonies, too.
What power can stay the Lord from pouring down knowledge upon the heads of his children?
From the Hubble telescope, we have been able to see and count distant galaxies, faint stars, red dwarfs, everything ever recorded in the sky. We have multiple stars for every grain of sand on the Earth. The grains of sand are nowhere near as numerous as the stars. (Star, a fixed luminous point in the night sky which is a large, remote incandescent body like the sun.)
The number of stars in the heavens is "an unbelievably large number," but there is the same number of molecules "in just ten drops of water." (Molecule is a group of atoms bonded together, representing the smallest fundamental unit of a chemical compound that can take part in a chemical reaction)
Moses 1:33 “And worlds without number have I created…”
Psalm 8:4 “What is man that you are mindful of him?"
Moses 1:39 “Behold, this is my work and my glory—to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man.” Man is at the top of God’s creations. This is what I want my family to know and never forget.
There is a temporal track and a spiritual track that run parallel.
Debbie and I were up at 7am and had prayer. I worked on getting tax information to Matt McCleary, CPA. Debbie has the tax forms for the money she has given the children and grandchildren in their IRAs (individual retirement accounts). We had cream of wheat and toast for breakfast. I spent some time on the vibrating machine and went with Debbie on her 8-minute walk around the neighborhood. Karlene joined us. Scott Edwards brought a thumb drive with all the data to give to Matt. We all used Debbie's blood pressure machine and checked our blood pressure and heart rate; my SYS was126, DIA 76, and heart rate was 71. Debbie checks and records hers several time a day. when her SYS is under 100 or her DIA is under 60 she cannot take her metoprolol tartrate 25 mg pill. At noon we went to Zupas for lunch. Afterwards, Karlene and Joe L drove back to Shelly, Idaho. Sister Jean Carlton from the ward Relief Society brought dinner over at 5:30 pm. Debbie and I watched a movie, had prayer, and went to bed about 9:30 PM.
