5:30 PM - Tucanos next to the mall on State St. and Univ. Ave in Orem
Debbie and I had prayer together at about 7 am. I checked my phone and I had a text from Michael about midnight last night and he was on his way up to UT. I sent him a text wishing him a happy 49th birthday. Matthew sent a text on a threat to all the family with a happy birthday text and some pictures. I showered, shaved, and got ready and took Debbie to her Cardo Therapy appointment at 10 am. Afterwards, we came home and had lunch. Debbie had 30 minutes, two 15-minute, sessions on the treadmill. I got on the vibrating machine when we got home. Today is Michael's 49th birthday. I called Alex to see what kind of cake he would want. She was with her Dad when I called. Key Lime pie not cake is what Michael would like unless it was a homemade angel food cake. Michael said key lime pie is Alex's favorite. It was 4 pm when I started calling trying to find a key lime pie. I called Cafe-Reo first; they have excellent key lime pie. I was told they do not have any and need 48 hours to prepare it. I next tried Lehi Bakery but they closed at 4 pm. I tried Macey's and Walmart bakeries but neither had key lime pie. My next call was going to be to Marie Calendar but when I saw where their restaurant was located in South Salt Lake, I realized we would not have time to drive up and get back to Orem for dinner. It was when I had exhausted my options except to start driving and try and find something open that carried key lime pies that the doorbell rang. It was Sister Heather Rasmussen with dinner for Debbie and me. For dessert, she had 4 slices of homemade key lime pie. The Lord knows what I need and want even before I ask. Debbie and I arrived at Tucanos before Carter; Alex came next, and then Michael. Tucanos is a Brazilian-type restaurant that Matthew introduced us to. It is one of our family's favorites. We, Alex, Carter, Debbie, and I brought birthday gifts. I gave him the Coach Men's Boxed 3 In 1 Leather Wallet Gift Set he was bidding on at the FAM, Family Assistance Ministries, NGO in San Clemente on Friday, 31st of May 2024. I did not know I was bidding against him in the silent auction until it was over and he saw I had it. I told him then I would give it to him on his birthday. Alex put candles in Michael's slice of key lime pie and we sang Happy Birthday to him. When we got home Debbie suggested I call and have two of the brothers come over and give me a blessing before I go in to see Dr. Marc Nuttell at Cancer Center, Hematology-Medical Oncology in American Fork tomorrow. I called Michael Jardine who is one of our ministering angels and explained why I would like a blessing. He was not able to come but got Cody Leatham, Elders Quorum President, and Scott Smith to come and administer to me. Debbie and I had prayer before going to bed at about 11 pm.
