 30 Mar 2025, Sunday

Prioritized Daily

10:30 am - Church at Lehi 7th Ward

4:00 pm - Ryan, Stephanie, Abbey, Carter, Mackay, and Drew visit

5:00 pm -  party at Pat and Anndalyn's to welcome Ellie back home

Note: We read in the Book of Mormon about how Amalek poisoned Lahonti by degrees. (Alma 47:18)

I think in the same way, sometimes by degrees, we can be affected by what we're surrounded by. A lot of worldly ideas. I love what Sheri Dew said: "Go to sources that only speak truth, and that's why our scriptures are so important, to keep us grounded in truth."  John Bytheway taught the parable of the marinade.  What you surround yourself with becomes part of you.

Dallyn Bayles has been in a lot of church productions. He's played Hiram Smith. I think he played Alma the Elder in some of the church videos. And he was the Phantom in the traveling group of The Phantom of the Opera. He is just a terrific singer.  If you ever felt intimidated, have Dallyn Bayles sing, Bring Him Home; he bring the house down. When we got on a plane to go home. I asked him what he was doing these days and if he was still traveling. He said, "Actually, I'm teaching seminary".  He said that his mentor had told him something.   He said, "Dallyn, regardless of your original intention, you'll eventually become what you surround yourself with."  You become what you marinate yourself in.  We have to marinate in the right stuff.  Eric-Richards-DC-29-FollowHim-Podcast

I woke up at 7:15 am, prayed, showered, shaved, and had prayer with Debbie.  She did not sleep well last night.  We listen to the Tabernacle Choir and Spoken Word before attending Church at 10:30 am.  After the Sacrament meeting, we attended a combined Priesthood and Relief Society 5th Sunday meeting taught by Neil Raey and Velery Ackley on temporal and spiritual preparedness.  We came home and had lunch.  Ryan, Stephanie, and all the children except for Kylie came by before we went over to Patrick and Anndalyn's to a party for Ellie's getting home from working as a nannie in Austria this year.  Laura, George and all their children including Tyler and Josie were here.  Pat and Andalyn made the chicken alfiriado.  Lyndan, Anndalyn's mother, brought a lemon pie, and others brought desserts and salads.  The children played games, and the adults had a family meeting about reunions and where and when for the next few years.  Debbie and I got home before 9:30 PM.  We had prayer together, and I got to bed before 10:30 PM.
