9:00 am - Debbie meeting in GPOD building in Shelly and later dinner
Note: A father said to his son, "You graduated with honors. Here is a Volkswagen Beetle that I bought many years ago... It is over 50 years old, but before I give it to you, take it to a dealership downtown and ask how much they are offering you."
The son went to the dealership, came back to his father and said, "They offered me $1,000 because it looks very used." The father said, "Take it to a pawn shop."
The son went to the pawn shop, came back and said, "They only offered me $200 because they say it is too old."
Finally, the father asked his son to take the car to a classic car club and show it there. The son took the car to the club, came back and said, "Some people at the club offered me $100,000! because it is a very rare car and sought after among the members."
The father said to his son, "I wanted you to understand that the right place appreciates you in the right way. If they don't value you, don't be angry; it just means you're in the wrong place. Those who know your value are the ones who truly appreciate you. Never stay in a place where they don't recognize your value!"
Debbie and I had prayer this morning. Debbie went to breakfast and then to ther GPOD meeting in Shelly with Karlene and Reed. I talked to Matthew and Rae Lynn this morning before walking and exercising after Debbie left. Beth called later checking on her Aunt Elain. Alex texted, checking on her. I went for a walk around the Green Belt on. both sides of the Snake River down to the electric power plant. I took a picture of the Keefer cabin on the island in the Snake River. The Mr. Keefer, who lived in the cabin until the river flooded and moved into Idaho Falls I met while on my mission in 1969, must have passed away. His museum does not appear on Google. Tello Baird called after I got back to the motel and came by and picked me up. We went to Sully's Gastro Pub at 504 Shoup Ave in Idaho Falls for a late lunch. Tello's first wife was Paula, and they had 2 children before she was killed in an auto accident coming home from her last night of nursing school.
Tello's second wife, Joanna, I knew. She had been married before and had children. They had 1 daughter, Francina, together. When she was 13 years old, Tello told Joanna, "I know now why dogs sometimes eat their puppies.
His 3rd wife, Jennifer, had been married before and had 8 children. All of the children are 13.
Tello bought an Exit Realty Franchise, and I got to know him when I was helping Matthew in law school.
Debbie went to the GPOD dinner at the Sandpiper Restaurant next door to the Clarion Inn, where we are staying. I at food we brought from home and leftovers we brought back from places we had eaten before. Reed came back with Debbie and paid her, and wrote a check for Karlene due them from their mother's estate. Debbie and I watched some TV and had prayer before going to bed at about 12 midnight.
