Note: Dave Haygood lived and worked with the Yancy family in Atlanta. Mr. Yancy and his son, Doug, were photographers. When Dave got married to Jennifer, he worked as a photographer. He took a picture of the Angle Moroni on the top of the Salt Lake Temple with the sun and sky in the background with a dark lens filter. When the negative was developed, the picture had a cross behind the angel. Dave had it framed and was in his house after he quit photography work and was working in law enforcement. I asked Dave to get me a picture from the negative. Weeks passed, then months, and I kept asking for a picture of the Angel Moroni on top of the Salt Lake Temple like the one he had in his home. Years passed, but I never gave up. Then one day the picture came. Later, I heard or learned Dave had sent me the one he had hanging in his home. Today I saw one on display in the ward foyer with other items from Dave's life that had been put on display. I asked Ryan about the picture, and he said it had been put away and stored in the basement at his dad's home in Bountiful. It was not the quality of the one he gave me. I think Dave may have taken a picture of the original with his camera and had a copy made for his family.
Debbie and I had prayer, showered, and Debbie set out food for Jody and her family for breakfast. We drove up to Henry David Haygood's viewing and funeral service at the Dry Creek Ward Building, 720 E 550 N, Bountiful, UT. Debbie and attended the viewing from 9:30 am until the funeral at 11:00 am, and then the graveside services at Bountiful City Cemetery. I had not seen their two sons, Ryan, the oldest son, or Andrew in years. I had met Andrew's wife, but not any of their children or Ryan's son's that I remembered. I remembered Jennifer's sister, Cindy Branch, and her brother, Scott Miles. I saw Scott's son, Scott, whom I had not seen since he was a young boy. Ryan, Andrew (sons), and Scott L. Miles, Jennifer's brother, spoke. Bishop James Hinkle conducted and was the concluding speaker. Debbie and I attended the graveside service after the funeral at Bountiful City Cemetery, where the veterans of the Air Force, Army, and Navy paid tribute. After the funeral, we drove back home. We got things ready for Jody's family who come over about 6 pm. We grilled stakes, Debbie and the girls made a berry salad, and baked potatoes and rolls. Tony, Jody, Shelby, Libby, Clari, Kenna, and Graceson ate with Debbie and me. Cach, Cooper, and Bradley are riding bikes and are not back at 9 pm. We saved them some food. I have been trying to call, Rae Lynn, Ethan, and Michael for a couple of days. I did talk to Brett, Rae Lynn's husband, and Ethan, dad, yesterday. I told him about the Golf Clubs with no bag. Today I checked the Costco add for the clubs I bought for Ethan for Rae Lynn and Brett, and they had taken the add down that showed the white and black glof bag with the golf clubs. Now it only shows the clubs and no golf bags. Debbie and I had prayer and got to bed at midnight.
