Prioritized Daily Task

Debbie and I had prayer, showered, shaved, and Debbie wrapped Christmas presents to mail to Sister Tylee Hobbs.  We attended Sacrament Meeting at 10:30 am, and afterwards, Debbie went to her Relief Society Meeting, and I attended the Elders Quorum Priesthood Meeting.  My lesson in Priesthood Class was "Receive His Gift", by Elder Patrick Kearon, of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, in the Sunday afternoon session of the April 2025 General Conference. Note: The thought came to me that if you wanted to hurt or offend someone who had gone to much thought and effort to give you what they considered a very priceless gift, you could refuse the gift, or if you did take the gift, not recognize or acknowledge the giver.  Christ said in Doctrine and Covenants Section 59 Verse 21, "And in nothing doth man offend God, or against none is his wrath kindled, save those who confess not his hand in all things, and obey not his commandments."  After church, we came home and changed clothes.  The children and family sent Patt a happy 74th birthday text.  Debbie and I reviewed the absentee ballot for City of Lehi elected officials and the school board.  I called and talked to Michael.  I tried calling Beth.  I think she is out of the country.  I tried calling Matthew and Rae Lynn.  I left a message on their answering machine.  I helped Debbie get things ready for the start-of-school picnic: hot dogs, hamburgers, and baked beans.  Debbie cut up fruit, lettuce, and tomatoes.   Debbie had all the fixings and lemonade to drink.  Jared's, Pat's, and Laura's families started arriving about 5 PM.  Jody's family and the missionaries, Sister Tylee Hobbs and Elder Camdon Hobbs, could not be here.  Samantha, Tyler, and Josie were not here.  I did grilling, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, and hot dogs.  We had way more food than the family could eat, so we sent food home with them.  I got the fire-pit started, and the children and some of the adults made s'mores for dessert.  Matthew called and is flying up to Utah on Monday, Aug. 25th, and will stay with us for a few days while he is working up here.  I cleanen the outdoor gas grill and started washing dishes and pans.  Laura was the first to come and help, next Anndalyn, and after her, a group of older children started helping.  The younger children got the outdoor games from the garage and played all afternoon and until it was dark.  Jared put the games back in the boxes they came out of and then put the boxes back in the garage.  Debbie spent some quality time with the children and grandchildren.  After everyone was gone Debbie and I visited, had prayer and went to bed.
