Prioritized Daily Task
11 am - Debbie's Neil appointment with Aub
Note: The Apostle Paul wrote to the church at Ephesus that the saints, members of Christ's Church, should put on the whole armour of God, ...... having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; ....taking the shield of faith, ...... And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God..... Why was there and why is there no armor for the back? It is not needed because we don't turn our backs to the war. We continue to press forward with our eyes fixed on the Savior, following Him.
Debbie was up early, cooking and getting ready for Jack Hobb's baptism this morning. We had prayer together and loaded the car with food, and took it with us to their stake center a few blocks from their home. The service was held in the Primary or Jr. Sunday School Room. The room was full of family and friends. Some were probably in the halls. I don't know because Debbie and I were on the front row in the Sunday School Room. Jared and some of the tech-savvy members of the stake helped connect Jared's phone or computer to the stake's WiFi and Sister Tylee Hobbs' phone or computer, who is in the Netherlands on a mission. She was able to watch the baptism and interact with her parents and family. She is about 8 hours ahead of us. Bishop Keleb Mangum conducted. Max, Jack's brother, gave the opening prayer, Lynn Ballard, Jack's grandfather, spoke on baptism, Porter, Jack's brother, baptised him, and Sister Tylee Hobbs gave a talk on the Holy Ghost by WiFi. Jared Hobbs, Jack's father, confirmed him. All the Melchizedek Priesthood who attended stood in the circle assisting Jared. The primary president spoke, Jack's brothers and friends sang When I Am Baptized and Debbie McAlpin, Jack's Grandmother, gave the closing prayer. As soon as the baptism ended, Debbie and I drove over to Jared and Jami's and unloaded the food we brought. Jared had set up tables and chairs in the backyard so those who attended could eat and be in the shade. Worked on the weekly Google calendar, exercised, picked up the mail from our community mail box, and exercised. Debbie took Jody and Shelby to dinner at the In & Out, a fast-food restaurant. I had started my fast and did not go. I wrote a check for tithing and fast offering for September 2026. Debbie, Jody, and Shelby came home, and Libby got home from work. I watched a biography of Samuel Clemens, "Mark Twain". Debbie and I had prayer, I sent Ethan a text about tomorrow, and went to bed.
